Babylon Town Hall Annex Re-configuration + Renovation

The Town Hall Annex in North Babylon is a one-story, former elementary school building, originally constructed in 1960. When the building ownership was transferred to the Town, the former classrooms were turned into municipal offices to accommodate various Town departments, government functions, and community groups.

After rigorous interview process, BBS was retained by the Town of Babylon to perform an Existing Conditions Assessment and Feasibility Study to re-configure the existing Town Hall Annex interiors and recommend modifications to the floor layout plan to better suit the evolving municipal needs. The study also recommended a proper sequence to building renovations and construction phasing, with regards to on-going 24/7 Town functions – in conjunction with a multi-year funding appropriation process.

Currently in phase E/F of renovations, when completed the project will have included the existing roof replacement, new boilers, HVAC systems and ductwork renovations, window and door replacements, new floors, upgrades to electric, lighting, plumbing, security, communication, and IT/networking systems, compliance with ADA accessibility requirements throughout the Annex building, and additional parking.
