Approved by Great Neck voters as part of a larger capital improvement project, the E.M. Baker School renovation and expansion included construction of a new state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center, featuring a brand-new 416-seat Auditorium with a 2,000-SF stage area and ample support/storage space along the backstage wall. The addition included (2) ADA accessible stage ramps with railings, and a “glass box” entrance lobby, which serves as a transitional point between the new addition and adjacent school spaces and cafeteria.
The new E.M. Baker School auditorium, 4,100-SF cafeteria, and new bathrooms with associated infrastructure and storage will more adequately accommodate the school’s increasing enrollment, and elevate its programmatic offering to the level of the other educational facilities in this growing Gold Coast school district.
