Center Moriches, NY – On June 23, 2018 a rededication Mass was held at the newly restored St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Center Moriches, New York.
The tragic events of May 2017 when a mentally ill man tried to set the church on fire and later took his own life there touched deeply the whole congregation and local community in this quiet Long Island South Shore’s hamlet. Considering the circumstances and an on-going insurance claim, BBS responded quickly and sensitively to the needs of the parish, and provided interior designs that embrace the historic character of the church while fully integrating modern engineering systems and building amenities.
