Gary W. Schiede

With a key leadership role in BBS’s sustainability practice, Gary has been involved in the design of a wide range of educational, private, and institutional projects that have helped redefine and enhance learning and living environments for communities around Long Island. With a focus on integrating sustainable strategies, Gary approaches each of his design assignments as a unique opportunity to explore new ideas of programmatic and design context, spatial interaction, and community experience. His innovative, sustainable strategies and designs have earned national and local awards as well as LEED certifications by the United States Green Building Council, including the first LEED/CHPS certified school facility in New York State, the Hampton Bays Middle School.
